Meet the Staff
We decided to make ourselves into monstrous tarot cards so that you all can get to know us a little better.
Dianna Elizardo
Rosa Scupine
I believe in divine timing and try to remind myself to be aware of signs (from the universe) around me. I’m a writer based in San Diego and currently contemplating roots. Like, where to lay them and how to weave together the different parts of who I am with the environment and my community. I’m currently pursuing a certificate in Museum Studies and making time for my own creative projects.
Curator
I’m a hair dyer extraordinaire. When I’m not doing work for the press, you can often find me watching a terrible movie or, if the weather is cold enough, working on a puzzle. I am enrolled in a Master’s program in English with an interest in literary vampires and monsters. I hope to own some farmland for all the animals I’m bound to adopt. My favorite movie is Caro Diario and my greatest (irrational) fear is seaweed.
Head Editor
Malena Mckaba
Virgo; shy; pensive; epileptic; dreamer. I have always been a storyteller since I can remember. My favorite genres are prose and screenplays, and I’ve dabbled with film as well. I love introspectives, descents into madness, and psychological thrillers. For fun, I watch video essays and hyper analyze bad reality TV shows, or trying to cook a new dish. Currently lost in the Bay Area.

I devote a significant portion of my time to Pokémon, Legend of Zelda, and D&D (which I’ve been playing for a year and still don’t understand). In the evenings, I wear my menorah pajamas and drink barley tea. I draw or write, depending on what feels more natural at a given time. My subconscious considers me a scribe at the service of the nearby universe, and this thought motivates me, whether or not it’s true.

Jillian Allen
Hi, I’m Jillian, resident creepy horror bitch. I spend most of my time at the goth club dancing to Bauhaus, rewatching Suspiria (2018), or trying (and failing) to hunt ghosts. I’m currently working on an MFA in Poetry, and I plan to pursue my PhD in Literature/Horror. I’m deathly scared of chainsaws (yet I laugh at The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), and I’m irrationally afraid of snakes (yet I want a snake tattoo).
